I’m Ed Kressy…

Winner of the Ed Kressy Award for Best Writing by Ed Kressy

Nominated for nothing you’ve ever heard of

Recipient of increasingly-less-subtle notices from bill collectors, etc.

Seriously: I was addicted to meth and other drugs for 20 years (quit in ‘07). I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, which combines symptoms of a mood disorder, such as bipolar, with symptoms of psychosis (think Reese's Peanut Butter Cup of mental illness)

But thanks to the Angels in their many forms, I’ve rebuilt my life…much better than before…

When one gazes upon the breathtaking expanse of my published work, one beholds: a few pieces in The Washington Post, one in Vox, some others

As well as a memoir, My Addiction & Recovery, which received numerous worldwide accolades for Most Creative Title

My new novel, Midnight Cruiser, will soon be published by…someone…readers get a gripping, attempt-at-humorous story of a young man seeking to escape a conventional lifestyle, navigating his loosening grip on reality and tenuous freedom from addiction

Total fiction, of course

NOW, in all seriousness: I have an all-volunteer nonprofit called Uncarcerated. We’re grateful to incarcerated people, corrections staff, and law enforcement for partnerships to carry the message of transformation inside the walls of jails and prisons
