It’s a noble thing, when we work to change our circumstances

Rather than hoping they change on their own

(Hope isn’t a strategy)

Rather than complaining about what’s wrong

(Whatever we focus on, expands)

When we change our circumstances, we can revolutionize lives, transform communities, shift societies

MLK, Mandela, Mother Teresa…some of the people who changed the worlds around them

Yet there’s a trap of change

We get caught in the trap when we fall prey to the belief that with changing circumstances, comes automatic happiness

Because if we change our circumstances, yet remain unhappy…

We may be less motivated to work to change them in the future

Happiness doesn’t come from what’s around us, but rather how we choose to view it

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes—attributed to Proust
